By now most of us know that we need Vitamin D for a healthy heart. Additionally, the since the daily requirement for Vitamin D has been raised it is speculated that many of us may be deficient. While the recommended D3 dose is now about 800IU you should always ask your doctor what is appropriate for you. Your doc may want to do a blood test (25-OH Vitamin D3 test) to see what your current blood level is before prescribing a dose. When you buy D3 look for an oil-based gelcap as it is believed by many that this preparation is better absorbed.
