heart transplant surgery

HI,H.C..sorry i haven't been on 4 awhile,thought i was ok,but heart disease caught up.i was previously diagnosed with congestive heart failure,2 heart attacks triple bypass,defib.implant,weak pump,functioning@31%.was told by cardio that i should consider heart transplant,current symptoms are tired all the time,xtreme shortness of breath with minimal exertion.would greatly appreciate any and all input/support.I AM SCARED!thanks,H.C.,keith p.s.i would love 2 hear from anyone having a transplant

Good to hear from you again and great subject for a discussion even though it is a little scary! Hey, a little (even a lot) of trepidation is perfectly normal.

Heart transplants have become common but still rather rare due to lack of hearts. But we have well over 100,000 people on HeartConnect so I'll bet there is someone who is either waiting for a transplant, has had one, or is close to someone who has.

I would encourage everyone to chime in no matter how small the experience or info! Every little bit helps.

Yup, we are all in this together! None of us gets out alive but it sure is gratifying fighting the fight and seeing just how far we can go. And sometimes, it is nothing short of spectacular!
