I really didn't associate high blood pressure as being heart disease until I joined this site. Then I started reading that people with my health problems, diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholestrol were considered to be as much of a risk for a heart attack as some one who had already had one. I try to watch my diet since I am a diabetic, but then when I went into the hospital with my BG being 798 I was sent home on a diabetic diet, of course, but also a cardiac diet as well. Just never really sunk in till then, I guess. Just wanted to share…

I swear by exercise, relaxation, and fish oil! It dropped my BP 20 points with no meds.

Glad you are home from the hospital. I too never thought of high blood pressure as a heart problem. I also did not know all the havoc it could cause to my body and my health. I am also a diabetic and have high tryglicerides. I am trying to eat healthier, but it is not that easy when bad habits refuse to go away wihtout a fight. I amtrying and I am glad you are too. Take care.

Good to hear from you!

It is starting to become common knowledge that diabetes, high BP, heart disease, hyperthyroidism, and even depression and obesity are all rooted in common root causes. Understandably, they tend to occur together.

Even though they are separate communities at Alliance Health, I really try to find strategies that attack the big three, heart disease, diabetes, and hypothyroidism. Anything that helps fix one tends to help fix the others.

I too, have all of your problems, and am now waking up to a healthier eating style. Isn't it nice to know that there are sites that can help us with our problems.
