i check my blood pressureat walmart. realize they arent as accurated as what they do at the doctors office but gives an idea what mine is. i usually get a reading of about 15 to 20 points lower what they get. but you are more relaxed when your alone. i'm on meds for mine lisonipril 20 mg a day once a day.

It definitely helps to have your own meter… I have 2, a Walgreens wrist monitor and a Panasonic arm cuff. It's not a bad idea to check right and left. I think I read that the difference should not be more than 15 between them. With the machines, it's hard to get that right arm into the cuff. I tried standing on my head. but got kicked out of the store!!!

Heh, I am aroud so many docs I get my BP often. If you do not own a BP meter (or hang around a lot of docs) WalMart is certainly convenient - they're everywhere, lol!
