The main cause of heart and blood vessel disease is the fatty material that sticks to the wall of blood vessels. WOMEN are less likely to have chest pain with a heart attack, they're more likely to have 1) shortness of breath 2) nausea 3) back or jaw pain. In addition some people with diabetes have "silent" heart attacks, or heart attacks without symptoms. Check with your Doctor if you are a post-menopausal woman and have had diabetes for at least 10 yrs. , or if you have cholesterol levels that are out of target range.
