One of the most often asked questions I get is where to go to get good medical care.

US News recently issued a report on the top hospitals in each major US metro area.

What is your assessment? How do YOU rate the hospitals you have been to? Are they:

Friendly and professional?
Competent diagnosticians?
Willing to listen?
Compassionate?
Easy to work with?

What is your opinion on these and other questions and ratings?

I have only ever been in one Hospital and i thought it was Fantastic!! I had Open Heart..Triple By-Pass at the VA hospital in Buffalo, NY. I was really scared before going as i had heard so many bad things about the VA. But they treated me like i was a KING..All my nurses and Dr's were top notch to say the least..I would recommend that anyone go there and would go back myself!! But i am in no hurry to do so!!

Yes, the two hospitals that I was in the past 5 years, were excellent, even though they did not make the list.
The hospitals were definately friendly and professional, they had great doctors and the nurses were outstanding.
The two hospitals that I were in was Aurora St. Lukes, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and Aurora Summit Hospital in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin.
If i had to go again for any other surgery, I would go to either of these hospitals in a heartbeat.

Hey re1ndeer!

We must live near each other. I'm in Bayside, WI. St. Lukes is certainly one fine heart center.
