I had open heart surgery in 2003 to remove a large blood clot that was attached to my aortic valve. It was just flapping around and when they did a heart cath (before they knew it existed) they irritated it and it threw a shower of small clots throughout my body. Apparently it wasn't my time to go because the clots all went to organs that could heal - kidneys, spleen, etc. That clot is still unexplained. My surgeon thought it was a tumor but pathology said no. It makes me anxious because I don't know if it will come back since I don't know what caused it in the first place. I've never heard of anyone else having this. My aortic valve is ok. They were able to remove the mass from it without damaging it. Thank God. But I do have SVT now which I didn't have before.

WOW… just wow. I'm glad to hear you the little clots were not too much trouble and I'm glad your Aortic valve is ok. The whole thing is pretty amazing!

Thanks Brenda. My name is Brenda, too! Yeah I had strange doctors coming by my hospital room just to shake my hand and see the miracle woman. I guess I have a story to tell my grandkids someday.

That is cool… Miracle woman… Well guess it wasn't your time… not to put too much pressure on you… but what are you planning on doing next?

Since I got diagnosed with RA in 2008 my life has drastically changed. I already had fibromyalgia so my pain is constant. I am going to school working on my bachelor's degree and I take care of my grandson a couple of afternoons per week. Just trying to survive right now. My future is kind of scary but I try not to go there. I pray a lot and trust in God for guidance. I really would like to work with victims of domestic violence so I keep praying that by the time I finish school I'll be physically able to handle that stress. Somehow I want to make a difference.

Yes, I have MVI (Mitral Valve Insuffiency) which was originally diagnosed as MVP (Prolapse). Generally, insufficiencies such as these are benign in their early stages but should be watched. There is a pretty good description of this condition on Wikipedia at

You've already made it past the 10 year mark. Keep up the good work!

LoL…my only good work is remembering to take meds as directed…
I did read the Wikipedia stuff… most of it seems like it was written in another language that only LOOKS like English. I think it says needing a valve replacement is a given… ok… Now I need to figure out which one I want LATER when I do need one. Thanks

I have a leak in my aortic valve but it was created when I went in to get a stent and they went through my valve with the sheath they use to put the stent in. I about bled out and died. They had to rush me from the cath lab to the OR room and told my family that I only had a 25% chance of making it through the surgery. They repaired the valve but now one year later I have found out that I have a leak in the valve.
