How many stages of heart failure are there? My mom was diagnosed with heart failure stage b? Does that mean her death is soon?

You sound scared, but let God hellp you through this. What if never seems to come and noe of us know when that "what if" will come. A very cute picture of you and your Mom, by the way. God bless

Hi - I have been told that there is 4 stages of heart failure - the 1st two are Mild - the 3rd is Moderate and the 4th is Severe - The 1st has no limitation, the 2nd has slight limitations of physical activity before fatigue, palpitation or shortness of breath - the 3rd marked limitation of physical activity before fatigue, palpititation and shortness of breath - 4th unable to carry out physical activity without discomfort. I was told about a month ago that I am in stage 2. But everyone can be different. I still go to the gym 3 time a week, am able to work without limitation. I work outside every chance I get. Right now I have to watch the heat. I will tire easily and get short of breath. As the drs. what stages they go by, don't be affraid to ask questions. It's the only way to learn. Hope this helps and will say a prayer.

I DON'T KNOW ABOUT MANY STAGES I WENT FROM HAVING CHF TO I'M AT ENDSTAGE. I NEVER KNEW ANY STAGES IN BETWEEN. ACTUALLY I'M ON A WAITING LIST FOR A HEART TRANSPLANT. I'VE HAD HEART SURGERY IN 2008. ALL I CAN SAY IS PRAY. PRAYER WORKS. THEY DIDN'T EXPECT ME TO LIVE THIS LONG. I WAS TOLD AT ONE TIME I WOULDN'T LIVE TO SEE A CERTAIN AGE. I PASSED THAT AGE 8 YEARS AGO. GOD IS GOOD. TRUST AND BELIEVE.

There are four stages of heart disease. Fourth stage being the worst. I am on the transplant list as a 1b. That is stage 4. Next week they are putting in a VAD as my IV meds are starting to not work very good. I will then be a class 1a for 30 days then drop back to a 1b.
I was diagnosed 18 years ago with cardiomyopathy. I was given 5 to 10 years before I needed a transplant. If you take care of yourself and do as the doctor says, you can definitely last a lot longer.
